Dracula dalstroemii

Dracula dalstroemii has beautiful, round, large brown flowers with a light center in the middle of the flower. A special feature of this species is certainly that the flowers grow upright. This impressive species is named after its Swedish discoverer Stig Dalström, who discovered it in northwestern Ecuador in 1983.

LOCATION

All Dracula orchids require shade and do not tolerate direct sunlight. This can be achieved by hanging them slightly out into the room. They also do not tolerate heat well. Nighttime temperatures around 15°C are beneficial, but even if the room temperature is significantly higher, a water-filled saucer can lower the temperature in the immediate vicinity of the plant by several degrees through evaporative cooling.

CARE

Our Dracula plants come in a special hanging pot that allows plenty of air to reach the roots while still being easy to keep moist. The substrate (sphagnum moss) should never dry out completely, as the Dracula prefers high humidity. On warm days, watering should only be done early in the morning or late in the evening. The leaves can also be sprayed with rainwater in the morning, which also increases the humidity. From March to October, a little weakly concentrated orchid fertilizer can be added to the watering water occasionally. The Dracula plants should be repotted every two to three years, or the substrate should be replaced.

The product is 30 to 40 cm high and the pot has a diameter of 10 cm without the saucer.

Die Orchideen sind super verpackt angekommen. Es war sogar ein Heat Pack mit im Karton. Das bekommen manche Orchideen Gärtnereien nicht hin!

Die drei BellaVallia sind richtig groß und stark bewurzelt gewesen, dass ich diese erst einmal umtopfen musste. Ein paar Pflanzen habe ich an eine Terra Base gebunden und bin gespannt ob das funktioniert und die Orchideen gut anwachsen. Alle drei Pflanzen haben viele Blüten Ansätze. Ich habe das erste mal bei BlattPost bestellt und bin gespannt wie die Pflanzen sich unter meinen anderen 50 Ochideen machen.
