Dendrochilum is a delicate and beautifully simple orchid. It has thin, leathery and lush dark green leaves and requires little light and little water. The flowers resemble small red or yellow spikes and usually appear in March and April. As a green plant, however, it is always an eye-catcher and really easy to care for!
General information
General information
Dendrochilum wenzelii originally comes from the Philippines, like many of the approximately 270 other Dendrochilum species. It typically grows as an epiphyte on trees and branches in the tropical mountain regions of the Philippines. Its thick, leathery leaves make it very resistant to drought, making it the perfect companion for the home.
We deliver our Dendrochilum in a 9cm culture pot and the plants are planted in Sphagnum moss.
care instructions
care instructions
Dendrochilum wenzelii does not need much. It grows slowly, so it does not need much water or fertilizer. It is important to always check whether the plant is dry before giving it water again. It does not tolerate waterlogging, so dipping or showering it is highly recommended. Fertilizing is recommended about once a month, except in the winter months.
